Birthday, Bunnies & Badminton

A few important things happened since I last posted.

1.  I turned 30 years old.  We celebrated with chocolate cupcakes.

2.  Easter came and went.  We celebrated with cheesecake, bunny shaped cookies, and badminton.

3.  My sister Abby ran in a few track meets.  It is confirmed:  she is really fast.

4.  I attended my cousins' baby shower.  Their little boy is due May 4th.  I guessed he would be born April 30th.  I think he'll be good friends with our baby girl.

5.  I'm 23 weeks pregnant today.  Our baby is about 11 inches long and likely weighs more than a pound.  Josh can feel her kick.  Sometimes I can even see her squirm around through my shirt when I sit still.

Not the best picture, but I wanted to show we are making progress in the baby's nursery.  While I was at my cousin's baby shower, Josh started moving the tools out of the baby's room.  Only a few more items to move out and lots of cleaning before we can start painting and decorating.

The theme is going to be meadow/woodland creatures.  The colors will be similar to the Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow fabric collection.  Josh has also requested a few pops of bright purple.  I have a lot of good ideas.  I might even try my hand at sewing a few items.  Exciting!!

Sugar and Spice

Last Monday Josh and I went into the doctor's office for my 20 week ultrasound and we found out we will be welcoming a little girl to our family this August.  She looks healthy and perfect and we are super excited to meet her.  Seeing her on the ultrasound screen was amazing.  She has grown so much since we first saw her at 6 weeks.  I was fine during the ultrasound, but afterwards (while the poor nurse was trying to weigh me) I started sobbing.  Tears of joy, of course.  I guess I was just excited to know more about her.

So, without further ado, here she is, along with her cute little feet.  Although, her feet actually look pretty big for her size.  She'll probably be really tall :)

This is how I am looking at the halfway point--20 Weeks.  Instead of counting up, we can begin to countdown.  Only 20 or so more weeks to go!  I'm feeling really good lately.  I am feeling a little stretched out.  So far, I've put on about 10 pounds.  It is hard to imagine gaining another 20 pounds before August, but it could happen.

These pictures were taken at the 4Kay Race this weekend.  It was part of the Women's Final Four events here in Denver.  Abby and Josh ran the race.  Anna walked and jogged with me.  I think it is the first time I have ever stopped during a run to use the restroom.  Oh the joys of being pregnant.

Movin' On Up

This post is nearly two weeks late, but I wanted to share the fact we finally moved into our regular bedroom and out of the basement!  We still have to move up most of our clothes and decorate, but the bedroom and masterbath are totally functional.  It feels great!  Here are a few pictures of our new space.

Stanley likes the bed as much as we like the vintage headboard we recently purchased.  It doesn't quite match our other furniture, but it is very handsome.  This is the first time I've had a headboard since I lived at home with my parents.  I feel so grown up!
Here are a few pictures of our semi-new master bathroom.  I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

If you don't recall, this is the way the bathroom looked when we bought the house (below).  We didn't have the cash to completely remodel it, but we did put on a small pop-out for a little extra space.  Plus, some modern updates/reconfiguration.  Now it is much more functional and stylish.

Speaking of updates, here is the baby belly at 19 weeks.  This was taken the day we moved upstairs.  This was also the last day the sex of the baby was a mystery.  More on that to come.
