March.  You gotta love it.  Spring is close enough to taste; the sun is up longer; St. Patrick's Day celebrations abound; and best of all, March Madness!!  The past two weeks Josh and I have been enjoying all of the above.  Last weekend we participated in the Runnin' of the Green Lucky 7K.  My sister, Anna, came up to join us.  Check out her sweet bib number below!!  Who wouldn't want #777 for a Lucky 7K!

Unfortunately, luck didn't make us run any faster.  We still had a good time despite our lack-luster performance. Plus we looked good.

This weekend we had tickets to Round 2 and 3 of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at the Pepsi Center.  My parents bought the tickets last year and we have been itching for this weekend to come ever since.  We saw a total of six games including some big upsets.
We had a great view of the court from our seats and didn't have to deal with unruly fans in front of us or behind us.  It was a pretty sweet set-up.  The only thing that would have been better would have been if we had seats in a box.  Those guys got to watch the other games during breaks on their private televisions, plus it was the only place in the Pepsi Center that allowed alcohol.

We had to shoot over to a nearby bar inbetween sessions on Thursday (St. Patrick's Day) to squeeze in a few drinks. Josh took the top prize with 5 drinks in about 45 minutes.  All in all, we had a blast.  My bracket doesn't look to bad either.  Let's go Kansas!!

As Fate Would Have It

Today I'm feeling a bit under-the-weather.  I think I caught a cold over the weekend.  I should have seen it coming; I was just thinking about how long it has been since I was sick--classic mistake.  Needless to say, now I'm paying for the error of my ways.  Sitting in front of my computer at work is torture.  I feel like I'm blowing my nose every five minutes; my head hurts; and I'm exhausted.  So, when I heard I had to drive down to the tech center, you can only guess how excited I was. . . not at all.  My car is no better than my desk.

Well, the universe must have felt my dread and decided to send some joy my way.  When I got to my destination I was delighted to see the Denver Cupcake Truck parked right out front.  Remember them?  I picked out the perfect cupcake and brought it back to my office to brighten my afternoon.  Since my nose is out of order, I went with a simple flavor, Vanilla Party.  It was perfect and scrumptious!

Another Lava Flow, Please

Wow!  Sorry it has taken so long for me to catch-up.  We are back from Maui safe and sound.  We had an absolutely amazing time.  The wedding was beautiful.  Melanie and John got married on the beach right in front of our hotel.  It was short, sweet and just perfect.  The photo below was also taken in front of our hotel, epic, right?!

We totally lucked-out and got our room upgraded when we showed up.  We ended up with a two bedroom suite with a huge ocean front balcony, 3 bathrooms, dining room, living room, kitchen and washer/dryer.  It was pink and awesome.  It actually worked out perfectly because we had a few friends stay in our room during the week.  Even with four people, the room still seemed huge.  Plus we became closer with some new friends.  All in all, a good deal.

Here is a short list of some of the activities we did while we were there:  witnessed sweet wedding, sunset whale watching cruise, road to Hana, jungle ziplines, crater hike, jungle disc golf, skim boarding, sushi, snorkling, exploring, shave ice seeking, and lots of lava flow drinking.  AMAZING trip!!  I think the highlight was the road to Hana.

Gorgeous, right?!  The first picture is the Black Beach near Hana.  The second was taken at the top of the crater.   I love it because it looks like I'm sitting in the clouds.  You can see the rest of of pictures in our gallery here.  Aloha!

Food on Parade

This morning I was trying to help my mother-in-law come up with some ideas for a baby shower she is throwing soon.  While I was looking for some cupcake inspiration I came across this gem.
I'm particularly partial to this item because 1) I have an affinity to birds and any type of bird decor; and 2) I love displaying my food during parties!  I think this would look perfect at a baby shower covered in tasty treats.  If I had some extra cash I would put in an order right now.  If you like it too, you can find it on Etsy.  I might have to settle for a vase in the same style until I can afford the cake stand.  Both are super adorable!

Ive been doing at lot of laundry lately in an effort to keep the house in order for showings, open houses, etc.  Riley tries her hardest to prevent me from getting it done.  Beagles can't resist clean sheets still warm from the dryer.
