Race season is upon us. I just signed up for my first race of the year. I did so while consuming 4 girl scout cookies in a row, so I am by no means ready for race season, but I signed up any way. You have to start somewhere, right? I figured I might as well start with the
Runnin' of the Green Lucky 7K. You can't go wrong with a race that ends with a block party and truck loads of free beer. Plus, I love St. Patrick's Day and dressing up in green. I don't know what I will wear this year, but it will for sure include lots of green and possibly sequins.
Other races on the agenda for this year include: the Colfax Marathon Relay, the Warrior Dash and the Running Water 5K.
I've done the
Colfax Marathon Relay for 2 years in a row and 2010 would make it three. I don't know if we will be doing boys vs. girls again or co-ed teams, so if you have any interest in joining Josh and I, please let me know. I would really like to coordinate team shirts or colors this year, so let me know if you have ideas.
Let me tell you how excited I am for the
Warrior Dash!! My friend Catherine sent me the link last week and I have been pumped ever since. This race occurs all across the country, but 2010 will mark the first year that it will be held in Colorado. Not only is this a 5K race, it includes all kinds of obstacles along the way. Here are a few examples: jumping over fire; crawling under barbed wire in the mud; and scaling net walls. Not fully committed yet? Did I mention that the race if followed by a big party with free beer, axe throwing, turkey legs and related festivities?! Plus. . . . you also get a bad-ass furry hat with horns when you register?!!! I don't know about you, but I am totally in!!!

Last but certainly not least, the Running Water 5K. This is a race I am helping organize along with 4 other people from my Water Leaders course. We don't have details yet, but preliminary plans are for an Eco-Friendly 5K at Aurora Reservoir in September or October 2010. It will be the first 5K I have ever helped plan, so send positive thought my way and feel free to send me any cool suggestions. I will try to keep everyone updated as our plans progress. I would love to see you at the race!!
